National Championships 2024

The Cavallo Horse & Rider National Championships 2024 will be held Kirkland, Colvend, Dalbeattie, Dumfries & Galloway DG5 4QE on Friday 16th – Sunday 18th August 2024.

Plans are well underway and TREC GB would like to thank South of Scotland TREC Club for hosting this year’s Championships.

We would also like to thank Cavallo Horse & RIder for their kind sponsorship of all classes at the Championships this year.

For 2024, TREC GB will be holding a single National Championship which will incorporate the following Grassroots Level 1 classes:

  • Leucillin Level 1 Grassroots Newcomers Individual – Open to all qualified riders who have not competed in a full Summer TREC competition (3 phase affiliated TREC GB) before 1st August 2023.
  • Leucillin Level 1 Grassroots Newcomers Pairs – Open to all qualified riders, where both riders have not competed in a full Summer TREC competition (3 phase affiliated TREC GB) before 1st August 2023.
  • Leucillin Level 1 Grassroots Open Individual – Open to all qualified riders
  • Leucillin Level 1 Grassroots Open Pairs – Open to all qualified riders
  • Leucillin Level 1 Veteran Horse Championship – Horses must be born in or before the year 2004 (20 years old) and must have completed at least one full three phase competition within the last 2 years. Individual class only.

All classes at the TREC GB National Championships will be eligible for points in the Summer League 2024.


Qualified Riders


Qualification Criteria

Level 1, 2, 2A, 3 and 4 classes at affiliated TREC GB competitions run by TREC GB member clubs will be qualifying classes, unless the organiser has opted out of qualifier status (in which case it will be clearly stated in the schedule).

All classes will be eligible for qualifying points for TREC GB Summer League 2024.

Qualifying Period

For the TREC GB National Championships  Level 1 2, 2A, 3, 4 qualifying competitions will run from  27th July 2023 to 28th July 2024 inclusive. Entries close 30th July 2024 (clothing/merchandise orders will close 21st July 2024 (TBC) to allow time to process)

Qualification Criteria

LEVEL 1 – Competitors who rode at Level 1 Newcomers class, Level 1 Open or at Level 2 and above at the National Championships 2023 may not compete in the Level 1 Newcomer class at the TREC GB National  Championships 2024.

Pairs – As a qualification for pairs, you must ride with one of the person(s) you have qualified with. You can only ride with that person(s) in the pairs class at each level that you qualified in.

Level 2, 2A, 3 & 4: In order to be eligible for qualification, riders must be a current Red tier or Blue tier members of TREC GB before the start of the competition at which they achieve a placing as detailed above. In the case of a pair, both riders must be TREC GB members before the competition. 

Level 1 riders: Riders must be Red or Blue tier members at the time of entering the championships.

The qualification criteria for the TREC GB National Championships 2024 is the following:

  • For classes with up to 10 individuals/pairs, competitors placed 1st to 5th will qualify.
  • For classes with 11 or more individuals/pairs, competitors placed 1st to 7th will qualify.
  • There will be two codes for qualification: Q code for confirmed qualification placing 1 – 5th and R code for those for a roll down qualification
  • Q code entries will open from 17th June 2024 and R coded entries from 8th July 2024.

Qualification will roll down if the persons placed 1st to 5th (or 1st to 7th) have already qualified.

George, Henry, Richard, Tom and James would ALL qualify for the TREC GB National Championships for 2024.
