TREC GB Covid update 13th Sept 2020

TREC GB Covid update 13th Sept 2020

Further to the COVID-19 statement issued on Wednesday 9th September 2020, the Government’s announcement that social gatherings of more than six people will be illegal in England from Monday 14th September and a similar announcement by the Scotland government, TREC GB can now confirm that:

  1. Events including competitions can go ahead as planned as long as all our procedures and protocols are followed.
  2. Organisers must collect competitor, judge and helper details to support the NHS Track and Trace programme and retain the information for three weeks.
  3. Our insurance broker, SEIB, have also confirmed that there is no change to insurance cover because of the latest government restrictions due to come into force tomorrow.
  4. At the present time there are no changes to our guidance related to training and competing in Scotland and Wales.

Please remember that any ‘local restrictions’ that are in force take precedent over the more general national rules.

Continue to enjoy being TREC active again.

TREC GB Covid update 9th Sept 2020

TREC GB Covid update 9th Sept 2020

Following the Government’s announcement that social gatherings of more than six people will be illegal in England from Monday 14th September, TREC GB is awaiting further clarification as to whether or not planned training and competitions can go ahead.

Our insurance broker, SEIB, has been contacted directly and we await their response. The key question is: As an organised sport will our events be exempt?

Early indications are that organised sporting events are not included in this legislation. Hopefully this will be the case as a lot of time and effort has gone into preparing Covid safe activities by our clubs and organisers.

Further announcements from Central Government, large equestrian organisations and SEIB will determine whether or not we can continue at this time.

In the meantime, TREC GB advises that clubs and organisers contact members who have booked to participate in planned activities after 14th September informing them that, we hope everything can continue as planned as we are all very Covid-19 aware and secure in our planning and health and safety protocols

We will of course issue more information as soon as possible.

TREC GB Covid update 8th July 2020

TREC GB Covid update 8th July 2020

Following the Covid-19 update issued on Sunday 5th July TREC GB has received a reply from South East Essex Insurance Brokers and can confirm that, for Competitions planned to take place in England, we can move to Step 3A of the updated TREC GB Framework for Restarting Events, provided we adhere to the ‘ groups of six working in isolation’ guidelines.

TREC GB had anticipated this response and prepared, in advance, an updated Framework so that it could be sent to Clubs and Organisers as soon as possible.

The document ‘TREC GB Framework for Restarting Events’ (Version 2.1) will be sent to Clubs and Organisers later today and can be accessed via the link below.

Framework for Restarting Events v2.1 (030720)

TREC GB Covid update 5th July 2020

TREC GB Covid update 5th July 2020

TREC GB understands that regulations made by the Secretary of State in England on Friday, that came into force yesterday the 4th July 2020, should allow us the move to Step 3 of the TREC GB ‘Framework for Restarting Competitions’ (V1.1) for events planned to take place in England.

We have contacted South Essex Insurance Brokers requesting confirmation and expect a reply later this week.

We await further guidance from the governments of Scotland and Wales.

Competitions would continue to be subject to the most recent Government guidance, which would inform how they would need to be organised to comply with social distancing, hygiene and other requirements.

Therefore, TREC GB invites Clubs and Organisers, in England, to submit the appropriate- Booking Form- Training (V2.2), Summer Non-Qualifier/Other types of Competitions (V2.1),   along with a suitably detailed Risk Assessment (V4.0) to admin@trecgb.com

The most recent Booking and Risk Assessment forms will be emailed to Clubs and Organisers at the same time as this statement. Please make sure the Risk Assessment addresses all the COVID-19 aspects. Additionally, I can confirm that it is now possible to use indoor schools (England only) from the 4th July 2020.

Provisionally booked dates may obviously be subject to changes should restrictions be reintroduced locally or across the whole country.

We look forward to seeing members competing again but we must ensure all remain safe and respect competition protocols and guidance whilst there remains a risk of spreading Covid-19.

TREC GB Covid-19 Update  18th June 2020

TREC GB’s intention is to allow the resumption of training events and affiliated
competitions (Summer and Winter), covered by our insurance, as soon as possible and provided that they comply with your national government guidelines.

At their meeting on Tuesday June 16th, the Trustees considered the final draft of a ‘Framework for Restarting Events’ across the United Kingdom. This framework has now been finalised and can be accessed via the link below.

link to the framework.

The framework will be followed shortly by two further supporting documents.

1. A ‘Protocol’ for running both summer and winter events;

2. A more detailed Risk Assessment, including specific hazards and
recommended controlling measures, needed to reduce the risk of spreading
Covid-19, along with the hazards and control measures previously considered
when running TREC events at particular venues.

Whilst Covid-19 will remain with us for some time we are optimistic that events will be organised across the United Kingdom but are also conscious that there is still a serious risk of spreading Covid-19 if guidance is not strictly followed and the advised precautions taken.

TREC GB Covid 19 Update 8th June 2020

TREC GB Covid 19 Update 8th June 2020

TREC GB Covid-19 Update to Members, Clubs & Organisers. 8th June 2020

Dear Member

Following consideration of the latest Government advice from 1st June 2020 and SEIB insurance information received late last week, TREC GB’s position is that affiliated club training events can resume from the 27th June 2020.

Government guidance indicates that it is now possible for group lessons to take
place in England. Lessons can accommodate five people from different households along with a coach or trainer and must be in a suitable outdoor space. Hacks of six people from different households are also possible.

In Wales, trainers can offer one to one lessons and group lessons for members of the same household. The trainer must travel to you, lessons must be outside and exercising must be from your own home.

In Scotland, non-contact outdoor horse riding is allowed and riders must only meet up with one other person or one family group from the same household. There is confirmation that one to one lessons can take place outdoors and trainers are only allowed to teach one person or one family group each day.

In all cases, social distancing guidelines must be followed and the two-metre
distancing requirement strictly observed.

Further government guidance is available by following the links below:
Groups of up to six from different households can exercise outside under new rules
Guidance for the public on the phased return of outdoor sport and recreation in England
https://gov.wales/leaving-home-exercise-guidance.

Recent press releases and news bulletins are referring to a return to competitive sport, behind closed doors, combined with a rigorous programme of Covid-19 testing. However, government information doesn’t currently allow the resumption of affiliated TREC club competitions at this time.

Clubs planning to resume training must arrange to satisfy government and insurance requirements. This will require the submission of appropriate Risk Assessments, two weeks before the training dates that clearly show how normal procedures have been modified to demonstrate how advice is to be strictly followed. Clubs, Organisers and Members will receive detailed advice later this coming week.

The situation will no doubt improve quite quickly in the near future, provided there isn’t a second peak. In the meantime, TREC GB is finalising draft protocols for the resumption of Summer and Winter competitions and medical advice is being considered, along with advice from our insurers. Further information and advice to Clubs, Organisers and Members will be circulated once details are finalised.
