TREC GB Treasurer to step down

TREC GB Treasurer to step down

TREC GB wish to announce that our Treasurer, Vanessa Warren, who has been in place since the formation of TREC GB, has decided to step back from the role of Treasurer at the end of this membership year (September 2022).

We cannot thank Vanessa enough for her dedication to TREC GB throughout her time as Treasurer and she will be greatly missed.

We are also grateful that by giving TREC GB advance notice of her intentions, Vanessa has given us time to seek another volunteer to fill this role and will work alongside them to ensure a smooth transition during this period.

The Trustees are working with Vanessa to discuss and agree the role of any future TREC GB Treasurer and we expect to have this available by the end of April for any prospective volunteers to consider.

Once again, on behalf of the TREC GB Trustees and indeed, all of our members, I would like to thank Vanessa for being our Treasurer.

Kind Regards

Chris Paine

Change to Hat Standards

Change to Hat Standards

To ensure riders are wearing the most up to date riding hats and to give plenty of notice, please note that from the 31st December 2022, the following hat standards will no longer be accepted. This is due to the age of hats made to these standards:

  1. PAS O15 1998
  2. SNELL 2001
  3. SEI ASTM 95

These hat standards will be removed from the Rulebook in Spring 2022, when it is next printed.
The list of Current hat standards can be found at: Page 60

Welcome Moonrakers & South TREC Club

Welcome Moonrakers & South TREC Club

TREC GB are pleased to welcome Moonraker and South TREC Club as a probationary TREC Club from 1st October 2021.

Moonraker and South TREC Club is based in South Wiltshire and will also be developing TREC in Hampshire.

As a probationary club, over the next twelve months, Moonraker and South will need to meet all the criteria for TREC Clubs as given in the document ‘TREC GB and its Affiliated Clubs’ (link), before being confirmed as an Affiliated TREC Club.

As well as providing additional TREC in South Wiltshire, the formation of Moonraker and South will bring new opportunities to an area of England that has not been active in recent years and we wish the new club every success.

Kind Regards

FITE Announcement – 2021 World Championships

Dear Sir, Dear Madam,

We hope that activities have resumed in your respective countries and that we will soon be able to meet again at FITE meetings. In this regard, we would like to provide you with some information:

An international contest will also be held at the Centre Equestre de Maurs (France), from 1 to 3rd October.

2/ Working Equitation
For its part, the European Working Equitation Championship is confirmed! It will take place from 10 to 12th September at the Domaine des Trois Fontaines (Le Pouget, France), for Senior and Young Riders contests.
The programme and the registration form will be sent to you in the next few days.

TREC GB IRWG Statement 3rd July 2021

TREC GB IRWG Statement 3rd July 2021

As TREC GB begins to be able to allow the running of Summer Series competitions across England, Scotland and Wales and with the likelihood that the next FITE Championships will now be in 2022, the International Riders Working Group would like to update registered riders and any riders considering competing internationally, regarding the selection period, updated Selection Criteria and reporting requirements for

  1. The competition Season and
  2. for the ‘Off’ Season period

All details are contained within the updated selection criteria which are now available in the International Riders documents page.

In summary the main points to note are-

  1. a) Senior Rider competitions completed in the period 1st March 2019 to 30th June 2022 will be considered for selection purposes.
    b) Young and Junior Duo Rider competitions competed in the period 1st July 2019 to 30th June 2022 will be considered for selection purposes.
  1. a) Competition reporting requirements have been in place for Young Riders for a number of years, are also in place for Junior Duo Riders and from 1st July 2021 will be place for Senior Riders.
    b) For the ‘Off’ Season (November- March) during a qualifying period riders will also expected to complete an ‘Off’ Season report template each month.

  2. In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic TREC GB recognises that the Selection Criteria need to remain flexible but would like riders to note that the number of selection points required for selection purposes will be reviewed during 2021 and 2022 based on the number of Level 2 / 2A, Level 3 and Level 4 competitions available to riders during the qualification period.
Night Sections at TREC GB Events

Night Sections at TREC GB Events

Unfortunately, due to potential insurance issues, we have had to request that the night section at Wernham Farm on the 28th May 2021 does not run. We recognise that this is disappointing for both the organising team at Wessex and for the Level 3 competitors who were due to ride.

However, until these insurance issues have been resolved, we will not be able to allow any night sections at TREC GB events.

We will of course keep you informed of progress.
