TREC GB Officials and Volunteers

This is the place to find out what is involved in acting as a TREC Official and how to go about joining our fantastic group of volunteers.

Thank you!  TREC competitions cannot happen without the contributions of a large number of volunteers so if you are interested in finding out how to become a TREC GB official or how to hone your skills then we are very grateful.  This area will tell you what being a TREC judge or official entails, how to get some training in order to develop your expertise and about the opportunities to judge in far flung corners of the TREC world.

TREC judges are the lifeblood of the sport, enabling riders to have fun and explore this beautiful country of ours.   The best thing is that being a judge is great fun too and it provides the opportunity to spend time, often in very picturesque parts of the quiet countryside, with like-minded people.   Add in TREC’s legendary social attractions and you have set the scene for a satisfying and enjoyable day or weekend.  Those volunteers that are also TREC competitors often find that acting as a judge helps their own performance too, as they become more aware of what aspects of the sport are emphasised and gain a deeper understanding of the scoring system for the different phases.

TREC GB offers training for judges and Technical Delegates (TDs), either directly or via our member clubs.  Training courses are listed on the website.  The current list of training courses being offered can be found in the Events section of the website.

If you are interested in being trained as a TREC judge or TD but cannot find a course that suits you please email us via the Contact Us button to register your interest.
